Judges Eric Smith, Publisher, Art Business News Eric Smith is a true art world insider with years of industry experience. Smith is the CEO of Artexpo New York and former Vice President of Summit Business Media, the world’s leading producer of art shows and art-related trade publications. Smith also spent several years as Director of Martin Lawrence Galleries, where he managed more than 20 galleries in California, Colorado and Hawaii and quickly developed a passion for modern and contemporary art, selling Warhol, Rosenquist, Rauschenberg, Oldenburg and Keith Haring. ArtServe is local arts incubator that provides progressive events, programs and services that help artists turn their art into business. Bosworth has more than 22 years of management experience in various positions in both public and private sectors, including more than six years as Assistant Director of Broward County’s Cultural Division. Bosworth holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and completed his bachelor’s in Business at Florida State University. He currently serves as a board member on the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Community Services Advisory Board and the U.S. Selective Service. He volunteers with the United Way’s fundraising committee and the Clarke County Mayor’s Office (Clarke County, MS) to assist the County in developing its arts council programming.
Entry Fee - $35 for up to 5 images and $5 per each additional image. No entry limit.
Categories - Entrants must choose from the categories listed below. Multiple entries can be made in as many categories as desired - see below for Entry Fees and Form. Artists working in various mediums are welcome to enter. If questionable, please contact us. 1. Seascape/Ocean/Waterways 2. Landscape/Scenery/Countryside 3. Cityscape/Urban/Architectural 4. Awards - From the overall entries, 45 artists will be selected (5 artists in each of the 9 categories). Of those, 9 artists will win a Best of Category Award (1 artist from each category). And of those, there will be a 1st Place Best of Show Award winner, 2nd Place Judges Award winner, and a 3rd Place Merit Award winner. 1st Place “Best of Show Award” winner will receive an Award Certificate, Blue Rosette Ribbon, a One Year Artists Haven Gallery *Gold Membership Contract, a SOLO Booth at Art Expo New York (Value $4000), ¼ Page Ad in Art Business News, and a $500 Cash Prize. 2nd Place “Judges Award” winner will receive an Award Certificate, Red Rosette Ribbon, a One Year Artists Haven Gallery *Silver Membership Contract, and a $250 cash prize. 3rd Place “Merit Award” winner will receive an Award Certificate, White Rosette Ribbon, a One Year Artists Haven Gallery *Bronze Membership Contract, and a $100 cash prize. Best of Category Award winners will each receive an Award Certificate, Yellow Rosette Ribbon, and 1 Year Subscription to Art Business News.
Exhibition - The 45 selected artists will participate in a collective exhibition at the Artists Haven Gallery. The exhibition will be from June 11th through June 30th, 2012. Opening Reception - A Meet the Artists & Awards Presentation event will be held on the evening of Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 6 - 8pm. Free and public invited. Publicity & Sales - The exhibition will be advertised in print media and on the internet. The selected artists will be included in the Artists Haven Gallery website for a period of one year and made available for purchase in the gallery for 30 days.
